Decimal commas cannot be entered on some Samsung devices.

The default numerical keyboard on some Samsung devices does not support decimal commas. This means that it is not possible to enter a decimal antenna height or geoid separation value when configuring an external GNSS receiver. This problem only occurs with the default keyboard provided on some Samsung devices and can be avoided by using a keyboard that does support decimal commas.

Records cannot be captured when QuickCapture is running in the background on Android Q.

On Android Q devices, to allow capture of records when QuickCapture is running in the background, you must choose Allow all the time for the Allow to access this device's location setting. If you chose a different option when prompted, you can change your response to this question by going to Settings > Privacy > Permission manager > Location, choosing QuickCapture, and then choosing Allow all the time.

Point records that are collected in streaming mode fail to send.

If the point layer has been configured to both accept user input and collect records in streaming mode, records will fail to send. These records must be discarded on the mobile device. The project author should update the project, removing either the user input or streaming mode. The mobile worker can then update the project and capture and send new records.

QuickCapture does not launch from a custom URL that contains spaces in the Safari browser.

This is a known limitation for Safari on iOS. Custom URLs that include a user input value containing a space will fail to launch.

QuickCapture does not launch from links within ArcGIS Collector or Explorer for ArcGIS on iOS.

This is a known limitation for iOS. Links do launch from apps on Windows and Android.

A mobile map package (MMPK) does not open once downloaded.

The following conditions affect the ability of an MMPK to open:

  • The MMPK is expired and the type of access for an expired MMPK is set to do not allow to open.
  • The MMPK contains more than one map. Only one map will display in the mobile app.

To learn more about creating MMPKs with expiry conditions, see Create Mobile Map Package.

A project that references an offline basemap cannot be downloaded.

If your project contains an offline basemap of type MMPK, VTPK, or TPK, hosted on ArcGIS Enterprise, the project download will fail.

There are gaps in data capture when QuickCapture is in the background with many other apps running on iOS.

When running multiple apps, the operating system balances the memory available to each app. Record capture may be temporarily suspended when the mobile app is in the background and other apps are in use. To ensure that records are continuously captured in the mobile app, keep the app in the foreground, limit the number of apps running, or improve the specifications of your project hardware.

Windows does not recognize supported languages for text to speech.

Windows 10 does include a set of voices for each language installed on the device, but not all of these voices are available to third-party software.

Caution:

Specific voices can be enabled for use in QuickCapture, but you must edit the registry.

Organization default basemap does not display.

If a project configured to use the default organization basemap is downloaded on a version of the mobile app earlier than 1.6, the Esri World Topographic map will be displayed. To see the default organization basemap, QuickCapture 1.6 or later must be used.

Emojis cannot be used in a field name.

Although a feature service that contains emojis in field names can be created, data cannot be submitted to the feature service with any tool.

Nonfederated services require credentials to be saved in the item.

The web designer and mobile app only support nonfederated services if the service has been secured with token-based security and credentials have been saved in the corresponding item to which the service was added.

Project QR codes generated by the designer fail to scan when used on a black background.

When placing a project QR code on a black background, add a white border to the image.

Unable to update project thumbnails on Windows Authentication (IWA) or Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) authenticated portals.

Project thumbnails cannot be added or updated on Windows Authentication (IWA) or Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) authenticated ArcGIS Enterprise portals from web designer. To update thumbnails, go to My Content in the ArcGIS Enterprise portal website and edit the item details of the project.
